About

Benjamin Leinwand
I am an Assistant Professor in the
Department of Mathematical Sciences
at
Stevens Institute of Technology
in Hoboken, NJ. I received my PhD from the
Department of Statistics and Operations Research
at the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
working with
Vladas Pipiras
and
Guorong Wu
. I conduct research on networks to develop novel methodologies for analyzing brain connectome data, though many of these paradigms also fit other kinds of data, like social or traffic networks.
This preprint
encapsulates a lot these themes, and my
research statement
describes a broader range of my work (and can hopefully provide an example for students who have never written a research statement before). You can see a list of my works in the
Research
section of this site.

Past
Ph.D. at the
Department of Statistics and Operations Research
at the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
. While there, I helped edit
a website
with lots of info for prospective and current grad students. Though much of it is particular to that department, a lot is more generally applicable for a wider audience.
